This Cairns Festival Event was a special treat for book lovers to celebrate the Year of Reading
Accompanied by a generous morning tea, the event ran from 9.30am-12.30pm on September 1, 2012 at the
Centre of Contemporary Arts , 96 Abbott Street, Cairns
Playwright Angela Murphy along with ABC Far North Radio’s Fiona Sewell and guest panelists, discussed three great books – Anna Funder’s All That I Am, Julian Barnes’ A Sense of an Ending and Ernest Hemingway’s The Old Man and the Sea.
At just $15 a ticket or $10 for a concession, it was an affordable, interactive literary event that attracted a large and enthusiastic audience.
The panel included writer and Cairns Post Journalist, Chris Harrison, playwright Angela Murphy, ABC Radio Host Fiona Sewell and writer Diane Finlay. JCU’s Associate Professor of English, Steve Torre was also on the panel.
