Previous Productions and Projects

  • The season of Angela’s latest work , What are the Odds? was produced by JUTE Theatre in April  2011.   The comedy, set on Australia’s iconic Melbourne Cup Day,  was a hit with the Cairns community who embraced the event with the women dressing in fascinators and hats and the men in waist coats and braces.
  • Angela’s  play  Survival Instincts was a finalist at the Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane Short and Sweet Festivals, winning Best Actress, runner-up Best Actor, nominated Best Play of the Brisbane Festival (Brisbane Powerhouse, Sept 2009). 1st place People’s Choice Awards and 3rd place Judges’ Choice Awards, Sydney Festival (Week 3, Seymour Centre, Feb 2009). Best Actor and 3rd place Best Script and Best Production, Canberra Festival (Canberra Theatre Centre, Sept 2010)
  • Angela has been a Cairns Tropical Writers’ Festival Committee Member and presenter in 2008 and 2010.
  • From 2005 – 2012 Angela has conducted  writing workshops in Cairns, the Atherton Tablelands, Innisfail and Townsville and has been a panelist at their writers’ festivals.
  • Angela has  conducted writing workshops for Queensland Writers Centre (2008 & 2009) and is currently an QWC Editorial Consultant.
  • Angela’s play The Boathouse was produced by JUTE Theatre company  (Cairns Centre for Contemporary Arts) and Darwin Theatre Company (Darwin Entertainment Centre) in 2006
  • Her short- film script Snakes in the Cane, was accepted for further development by the Pacific Film & Television Commission, 2004 &  2007
  • Angela has been a free-lance writer for Cairns Barfly, Cairns Fly, The Cairns Post, The Brisbane Sunday Mail, City Life, Style and Arts Nexus Magazines 2002-2008
  • She was awarded a High Distinction, Master of Letters (Creative Writing), CQU 2005
  • Awarded  1st Prize, Queensland Rural Women’s Short Story competition,  2002 and 2003.
